Acoustic insulation
At middle-range and high frequencies Basutai has very high sound absorption.
Flame retardanr It has safe fire characteristics : Classification B1 Flame-retardant
in accordance with DIN 4102, without addition of flameproofing agent.
Thermal resistant Its high working temperatures and fire characteristics
are attributable to the melamine resin employed. Basutai’s long-term
service temperature gives it a leading position among the polymeric
foams.
Its ability to withstand high temperatures (long-term service temperature
approx. 200°C, and short-term peak temperatures of up to approx.
240°C are possible)
Thermal insulation A further advantage is its low thermal conductivity . It
is remarkable that this low value can be achieved with an open-cell
foam. The reason for this is the reduced convection of the air due
to the fine cellular structure of Basutai.
Chemical Stability and Resistance against microorganism Due to its crosslinked molecular structure BASUTAI is
very resistant to all organic solvents (hydrocarbons, alcohols,
ketones, ester etc). BASUTAI is also resistant to weak and strong
alkaline solutions.
BASUTAI is resistant against degradation by fungi and bacteria.
The foam cannot be used as a carbon source by these organism.
Aftertreated Basutai can be cut to shape by sawing and milling. The
production of single boards can be achieved by means of a horizontal
slitting machine. Complex geometries can be produced by means of
contour or profile cutting.Laminated layers of felt, fabric, metal
foil and plastic film can be applied. The hot pressprocess can equally
be used to emboss decorative patterns on to ? boards.
